For the DJ:

1) Do I have to pay to use this site?
To get enquiries from our site you will have to pay for them. However we offer three flexible options which are shown within this section. The reason our site is not completely free is because we use the revenue to maintain the site and cover associated costs, but more importantly to run external advertising campaigns to bring customers to you. We all know how expensive and ineffective major advertising can be. So, we believe if we charge a small amount to many DJs we will be able to advertise on a major scale to bring customers to you. We also believe the site offers you a comprehensive advertising platform which is customisable, offering unrivalled functions and features.

Web based directories offering free advertising are often very inefficient, deliver few bookings and provide little promotion. We hope you can see the traffic on our site and also our external advertising and marketing campaigns. The look and feel of the site is aimed at consumers so they can easily locate you efficiently in a secure and trusted environment.

A free Consumer account allows you to:

19) How do I search for DJs?
You can search for DJs using two methods:

  1. Use the DJ Search tab and complete the search criteria
  2. Use the Quick Search facility on the homepage.
20) Do I have to sign-up to search?
No, you do not have to sign up to search or book our DJs. The consumer account is optional.

21) Can I rely on the information and feedback?
We have designed our systems to make sure the feedback you view is legitimate and accurately reflects the service provided by the DJ. We review ALL feedbacks and have very strict policies. Likewise the information provided by DJs is checked to ensure accuracy. Any profiles that breach our policies are instantly suspended and removed.

Our advice to you is to look at the overall feedback trend as opposed to specifics. If a DJ has 4 feedbacks and it averages at 4 stars, you can be fairly confident that this reflects their service. However, if you have a DJ with 1 feedback and a rating of 5 stars, whilst this might be true there is more chance of inaccuracies, therefore we advise to verify information if possible.
Don’t forget you can always contact a DJs past customer, if they agreed to it, to discuss the service in more detail.

Whilst we make every effort to ensure the information you read is accurate, we cannot be held responsible if this is not the case. Further information can be found under our terms and conditions.

22) What happens if I receive poor service?
If you receive poor service and are not requested by the DJ to provide feedback, you can still have your say. When you are logged into your account, there is an option ‘Report Bad DJ’. From here you can fill out a form, which we will investigate on your behalf. Your constructive comments can then be submitted as feedback to the DJ, by our feedback analysts.

23) How do I create profiles?
You cannot create profiles with a consumer account. You will need to create a new account, selecting “I am a DJ”. This will give you the options to create profiles.

24) I can’t find a DJ
If you can’t find a DJ, try making your search less restrictive. Our site requires a minimum of your postcode to perform searches and will only return DJs that are prepared to travel to your location.

25) How do I contact you?
Our contact details can be found on the Contact us page. At present we cannot support a helpline therefore all queries must be through e-mail. We will endeavour to answer your query within 48 hours at the very latest.

26) Can you tell me what this means within a DJ Profile?
Below is an explanation of some of the terminology used throughout the site:

Bar / Club DJ:          Will play at various bars and clubs usually bringing only music and headphones. Specialise in mixing and music genre.

Wedding / Party DJ:         Usually has own equipment and music. They can turn up to any venue and set-up a mini disco / club, including sound system, lighting and special effects. Music is generally much more varied and less of an emphasis on mixing / technique. A good Wedding / Party DJ will entice the crowd and create a great atmosphere using their MC skills.

Public Liability Insurance:          Basically insures the DJ. Should his speaker fall over and hurt someone the insurance would cover this. Usually wedding / Party DJs have this more than Club / Bar DJs, as often premises are covered. Do not be put of by DJs without this, however you may want to check with the venue manager that public liability is covered, including any performers, i.e. the DJ and his equipment. We would not recommend an event without the appropriate insurance cover.

Entertainment License:         Artists protect there music through various legal avenues, most communally used is copyright and broadcasting protection. Should an inspector turn up to your venue and the DJ nor the premises have a license to broadcast (publicly play music) then the DJ and / or the venue can be fined significantly or in most cases given a warning. Whilst this is not a common occurrence it is something worth considering. You shouldn’t be put off of DJs without a license, however caution should be observed. As digital downloading of music increases, the music industry is tightening the rules on copyright and broadcasting.

Mixing:     This is a common term used in the DJ world to describe the process of getting from one track to another.

Fade in – Fade out:        For those DJs that cannot mix, this simply means fading one track out before fading the new track in to avoid them clashing horribly.

DJ No Show Service:       Although not obvious, if a DJ does not show up at you bar / club or wedding reception, it would have dire consequences on your reputation and your guests evening. Whilst all our DJs are very reliable, it has been known for the odd DJ not to show up or cancel at the last minute. If this unfortunate scenario did happen to you, you can search for DJs on this website, that offer a DJ No-show service. These DJs can be called and booked within a number of hours. Whilst we cannot guarantee availability, although you can check this or state your event date within the search criteria, it gives you quick access to DJs who can provide that life saving last minute gig.

Equipment / DJ Capacity:          Although obvious, do not overlook this important criterion when hiring a Wedding / Party DJ. If you want the DJ in your back room, there is no good hiring one whose setup could facilitate a small concert and likewise if you have a large event, you don’t want the DJ to vanish in a corner that know body can see or hear. Ensure the DJ setup, i.e. lighting and sound system capacity is right for your event.
